The School of Materials and Architectural Engineering is a fresh founded engineering school after GuizhouVocationl Technical College (previousGuizhou Provincial Metallurgy School ),which has a long history and advanced educational philosophy. We commit ourselves on training engineering-oriented undergraduate with solid knowledge foundation, good comprehensive quality, wonderful practical ability and spirit of innovation.
Nowadays, we have four undergraduate majors, which are civil engineering, metallurgical engineering, materials science and engineering and project management. There are 68 staffs constituted by 10 professors, 17 associate professors, 10 PhD, 28 graduates, 1 national certified supervision engineer, 9 national registered construction engineer, 1 national registered blasting engineer, 5 senior engineers, 2 engineers and one of whom is a member of national standardization technical committee of concrete. In addition, Guizhou Aluminum Electrolytic Carbon Materials Engineering Technology Research Center, Key Laboratory of Inorganic Nonmetal Material and Engineering Materials Research Institute of Guizhou Provincial Department of Education as well as other scientific research practice platform were founded here.
School pays attention to cooperation with foreign institutions, such as university of Quebec, Canada, the British Queen's university, Australia's commonwealth scientific and industrial research organization to carry out the scientific research. School carries out the production-study-research cooperation with ChalcoGuizhou Branch, ShougangShuiCheng steel group, China construction forth engineering division co.Ltd, Composite modification of polymer materials engineering technology research center and other more than 20 large and medium-sized state-owned enterprises and research institutions. At the mean time of cultivating technical personals, we are promoting our research capability to provide omnibearing and sophisticated intellectual and technical support for Guizhou's social and economy development. In the last three years, we have engaged more than 40 national and provincial scientific research projects and 247 papers were issued, among which 34 papers were index by SCI , 63 papers index by EI and ten patents were applied. We had achieved some honors, such as the prize of the national advanced unit of resource comprehensive utilization, third prize of national concrete design competition, third prize of the fourth national college students' mathematical final contest (Non-mathematical Professional) and other awards.
